Wiki: IT3 Cohort collaboration
We worked as a group to create an entire course, complete with instructional materials for this class. In order to accommodate the other group members and their busy schedules, we created a wiki to communicate, create and edit documents. It made me think of the ethical considerations between different people working together. This was a great tool to use because even though we were over 300 miles apart and coming from different life situations, we were able to effectively collaborate and complete this project. This is a technique that I will use in the future when teaching my online learners.

Document: Education in Japan
When I teach my Interpersonal Communications course at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, there is an entire chapter regarding different cultures. This document that I created for GDIT 726 is now something that I show my students in order to open their minds to education around the world. I talk about technology and how it is used. I also overview belief structures and differences in communication within these societies. I think it is an ethical duty to learn and respect these differences in order to be a successful educator.

Presentation: Culture and Poverty
This was a presentation that effected me in a lot of ways. It made me think about how there are children out there learning without books and pencils, let alone a computer or a iPad. It made me think of the different grants there were available for these students and how to get more actively involved in programs that provide technology for those who are less fortunate. One specific program is the "One Laptop Per Child Initiative" that one can learn more about by viewing the presentation below.
